Tairua is only minutes away from bush and kauri grove walks, old mines and caves to explore and fresh water swimming holes. Cathedral Cove, Hot Water Beach, Hahei, and Sailors Grave are all short drives away and Pauanui is only a short ferry ride across the harbour.

Orcas were seen recently frolicking in the harbour. Thanks to Ruth from the Tairua Ferry for sending us this photo. The ferry is running a regular service again over summer and and runs on the hour from Tairua Wharf to Tairua Landing and Pauanui returning to Tairua Wharf. For more information, please ring Rob on 027 497 0316.
